I can at last reveal the thing I’ve been working on the last couple of months, and that thing is “Break Space”
Break Space? What the Hell is Break Space?
Break Space is the brainchild of Mpk from the Spectrum Computing forum. It’s a fanzine dedicated to the ZX Spectrum, designed to promote the fantastic games that are still being produced on the system that is now 43 years old and showing no signs of slowing down.
Best of all, it’s completely and utterly FREE!
BS (unfortunate initials, or setting expectations nice & low?) has been put together by a small group of people who are passionate about Speccy games and are keen to showcase what’s currently being made. We want to shine a light on the full ahem spectrum of new Speccy games, from first time devs rattling about with game making tools (much like myself TBF) to those small teams of boffins pushing Sir Clive’s 43 year machine to it’s absolute limits.
The first issue boasts OVER 33 reviews and that’s just games released in the first 3 months of 2025.I really hope you enjoy the new ‘zine, it’s made with love & for fun.

What about FREEZE-ZX?
Well that’s a completely different thing, BS is a digital magazine with game reviews, whereas FREEZE-ZX will be a physical magazine, with the focus being on interviews and features.
Both are excellent; both will be centred around the greatest 8-bit computer of all time; both are produced by lovely, passionate people and I am immensely proud to be involved in the pair of them!

Hehe I’m glad this has finally been released. It’s been 2 intense months of playing and writing about Speccy games. I’ve really enjoyed it.
