Sometimes a game comes along that just fits you. A quality game with your kind of gameplay, your kind of look and feel. It makes you laugh, rage and try-hard all at once. One of those games in recent years for me has been Badger Punch Games, RogueCraft, on the ZX Amiga (oi) and published by Thalamus Digital Publishing LTD over on https://thalamusdigital.itch.io/roguecraft
Its kinda an old skool isometric dungeon crawler, a genre I do enjoy, with lush graphics, amazing music and sound and HOURS of gameplay and deaths to keep even the saddest C64 fan happy they finally upgraded to a good computer. Its even based on a C64 game!

You play the role of Warrior, Rogue or dipsy Wizard. Warrior is the “easiest” because he is toughest, Rogue is a sneak thief middle of the range character and of course the Wizard is a robed paper thin target but with ranged attack making him, if careful, easy mode when playing despite being labeled the “hardest”.
I typicaly play a Rogue in DnD games on paper or video but in RogueCraft I tend to fly the Warrior flag. It just feels right in the game to get up close to OctoThuluDeathLimbs and slice into that brain pan with max strength and a desire for Calamari sarnies. All play well, though due to its nature the Wizard plays very differently to the other two with the Rogue for the try-hards who just think he looks cooler than the Warrior (two daggers so of course he does and a random teleport skill!)

The game itself is your typical loot, scoot and murder simulator but don’t think this is a bad thing, far from it. Its tactical at times scooting around the deadly CHICK-UNS and never drawing your sword once and there are enough potions, hearts and loot thrown around the various levels to keep it interesting, oh and of course the key that you need to open the next level.
Throw in Garry Barlow Ghosts trying to sing you to death and the odd Mimic trying to act like a freindly hamper basket Chest and life quickly turns hateful and tanked of RAGE but never unfairly… mostly never unfairly…. OK OK please fix the escape key suicide that you press when looking for pause so you get a confirm screen… Bar that, not unfair at all… mostly!

Seriously though, its like ten bucks digital. Perfect pricing for a damn fine Amiga game that runs on near any model that people own these days (check on the website) and when in stock they do a range of CD or Floppy based boxed sets perfect for the avid collector who likes that junk. Me? I play digital coz I have a life and that means no room for boxes!
Rated. Recommended and Vital for any Amiga gamer today.
Enjoy!
I watched you plog about in this one recently! I took note of it to try myself! Looks fantastic! $10 to run it on WinAUE seems a steal, and if I can get it running on my Amiga that would be a bonus! I wonder if the PAL to NTSC will be an issue… I also wonder if I have enough RAM.. oh boy!
Great that ya trying it mate. I reckon you will love it to bits and then some. Dunno about NTSC but worth a go.
